Fun with YouTube’s Audio Content ID System


Have you encountered this yet? If you regularly upload to YouTube using any copyrighted music you may have done. The amusing thing about my particular “infringement” is that the material I was uploading was actually on behalf of Freemantle Media – so I actually had the right to publish the material.

Interestingly, when I tried to post a little video I made recently it was slightly less polite and stripped the music completely.

Anyway, as ever someone on the Internet has done lots of research on the system used by YouTube and obviously has some suggestions as how to get round it:


Not that I would condone a pith shift/tempo change of 5% or greater of course, that’s your decision to make.
